The innovative digital Audiopedia project is supported by the GIZ FATA Development Programme (FDP) to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Department and its training institute Local Governance School in the potential to use digital techonlogies amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Merged Areas of Pakistan. The project supports in the development of audio mobile application and audio webpage on the topics of local government system and on COVID-19 for android, KaiOS, and iOS mobile phones for the first time. The contents for the audiopedia application is being developed in English, Urdu and Pashto languages. The contents have been duly approved under the leadership of honourable Barkatullah Khan Durrani, Director of the Local Governance School.
The honourable Secretary Local Government Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Mian inagurated the Audiopedia project on 16 Novermber, 2021. GIZ FDP Team Leader, Governance and Dialogue, Mr. Shakeel Imtiaz gave opening remarks of the event and Ms. Mehvish Rashid and Mr. Muddassar Alam – Technical Advisors GIZ FDP introduced the project. Representatives from the Local Government Department, Local Governance School, District Administration from the tribal districts and Tehsil Municipal Officers of all the seven Districts were invited in the event and they were briefed about the project objectives and goals.
